Christmas in the hole,
released December 16, 2023
Christmas-time is closing like a shark that's drawn to blood
Every hour you feel it looming larger in your town
Nothing grows, around here.
Do you feel alright? Can you feel it's Christmas-time tonight?
Faerielights are strung around my neck
From the earth they pulled me up and put me by the hearth
Now I sit, now I glow
Do you feel alright? Can you feel it's Christmas-time tonight?
I spent the winter feeling like a Christmas tree planted in the ground slowly growing only waiting for someone to come and chop me down with a big axe and then put me in a pot, where I would baubles hung upon me and presents strewn underneath me.
And then on Christmas day all the little kiddies and their families would gather round and say “Oh what a beautiful tree” even though I was already dead and all my leaves were turning brown and falling off and having to be hoovered up.
Do you feel alright? Can you feel it's Christmas-time tonight?
Do you feel alright? Can you feel it's Christmas-time tonight?
Do you feel alright? Can you feel it's Christmas-time tonight?
Do you feel alright? Can you feel it's Christmas-time tonight?
Can you feel it's Christmas-time tonight?
